 The/Nudge is an action institute building resilient livelihoods to alleviate poverty. We work with women, farmers, tribals and youth on rural development, agriculture, skilling and economic inclusion, along with 15+ central and state government partners.


Our economic inclusion journey for 25 million Indians, has reached 10 states with $250M of government funding to cover 1.25M people. Our incubator, accelerator and grand challenges have supported 200+ social entrepreneurs including 17 Forbes 30U30, 3 EarthShot Prize winners, 1 Time Magazine cover and more.

About The Team:

 

The/Nudge Prize is a platform to draw talent, capital, and public attention towards the most pressing developmental problems in India. The/Nudge Prize is part of the livelihood ecosystem workstream.


The/Nudge Prize aims to guide markets where they are needed the most. By inducing population scale solutions & innovations that have disproportionate impact on stagnant livelihood opportunities & ecosystems for underserved segments. We research, design & conduct ‘tech based scale-up competitions’, to discover/innovate disruptive solutions and pull in capital to solve the most complex problems in India, faster. 


This role is to lead the Product & Design function within Prize - to enable a long term strategy and design for current & future challenges, while enabling an internal research POV, developing strong research partnerships, developing long term technical & investing partnerships for the 3 themes at Prize and finally work closely with the challenge leads and Program Head to develop sharper interventions across challenges. 



At The/Nudge you will:

  • Be an early team member - spend time across the functions of the program and identify a needs charter, be a thought partner to the Program Head 
  • Lead primary and secondary research on areas relevant to running Prize challenges and defining sharp problem statements 
  • Research & finalize the theory of change and product design - understand and articulate market making through inducement challenges (Develop our roadmap to change - from zero to one) 
  • Identify thematic areas across the development landscape for prize challenges and refine boundary conditions for our play 
  • Identify and harness global and domestic partnerships to aid Prize challenges and momentum for our areas 
  • Identify areas of collaboration and media engagement avenues to aid amplification & network effects 
  •  Design interventions and refine as per execution - to be implemented across various challenges 
  • Create a data structure for Prize and identify a sustainable way to share this data, information, platform & insights across various stakeholders 
  • Onboard relevant partners for specific prize challenges and maintain relationships with them through continuous engagements
  • Conduct primary and secondary research on areas relevant to running Prize challenges and defining sharp problem statements 
  • Set up seamless processes (design, evaluation criteria, jury, etc) for smooth execution of challenges from the announcement of the prize to its completion
  • Interface with Program Team, CSI stakeholders & Marketing, Analytics, Technology and Impact teams on areas critical to the success of the designed prize challenges

Apply if you have:

  • Graduate, post-graduate degrees 
  • Economics training or has gone through some educational/vocational experience in behavioral economics or macro-economics based dynamics 
  • 7-9 years of work experience in high performing set-ups and in intrapreneurial roles
  •  Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, startup environment 
  • A strong desire to make a difference 
  • Comfort with some degree of ambiguity in the absence of perfect information 
  • Comfort working with external and internal stakeholder groups 


Would be great if you have: 

  • Work experience in a tech startup 
  • A consultancy background 
  • Has designed programs in the social or impact sector
